Modernism Week in Palm Springs

The yearly celebration of Modernism in Palm Springs has become quite a bit event. Modernism Week’s festival took place February 13-23, 2020 and highlighted midcentury modern architecture, art, interior and landscape design, and vintage culture in the Palm Springs area of Southern California. 

We went to take in some of the home tours and see the architecture and design ideas that are the top of the trends for 2020. Here are a few of our favorite moments from the Palm Springs adventure.

Mesa Modern Living Room & Dining Space This dining space features dramatic black tile and pops of color in the future along with the abstract custom light fixture above the dining room table.

Modernism Week Featured Home Tour:

Midcentury modern in Palm Springs was transformed into a contemporary architecture and design at the Mesa Modern, a featured design house in collaboration with interior designer Michelle Boudreau, landscape architect John Feldman of Ecocentrix and the design team of Juniper House, that gains its inspiration from a global perspective on art, architecture, and interior and landscape design.

The city’s new design movement is represented in this newly-constructed home that emphasizes outstanding architecture and stunning outdoor spaces at the base of the beautiful San Jacinto mountains.

Highlighting unique international and local artists, artisans and talent as well as brands such as Ferguson, Brizo, JennAir, Corian, Hunter Douglas and Dunn-Edwards this home celebrates the quintessential desert lifestyle of relaxed living. Come explore this extraordinary indoor|outdoor masterpiece.

 

The home was spectacular and didn’t disappoint when it came to the casita out back.

   

Modernism flippers Thomboy Properties added some wonderful details to this next home in Palm Springs that they will be putting up for sale in the near future.
