When you enjoy what you do, working doesn’t have to be a chore, especially when you have the option of completing your tasks at home. Adding white countertops to a kitchen is a really nice way to brighten up the room. It’s also a design technique which you can use in order in order to break up the decor by creating contrast between the surfaces. There are quite a few types of materials that you can opt for if you want white kitchen counters. Marble is of course one of them. It looks timeless, super elegant and it fits in no matter what style you choose. White quartz countertops also look very stylish and sophisticated and you can pair them with lots of different materials, colors, finishes and styles.

If you like the idea of a white kitchen counter but you don’t really want it to stand out that much, you can choose to also have a matching backsplash. This way you would add another point of interest to the room and the entire design would be tied together seamlessly. Of course, if you go with a busy pattern than you can make these surfaces stand out which would have the opposite effect.

In the case of the kitchen island, you can have both a white counter and matching side panels in order to create a waterfall-inspired design. This works great with marble although other materials can look exquisite as well. The options are fairly limited but there are lots of ways to make your kitchen look really special.

If you’re worried that pairing white countertops with white cabinets would make your kitchen look too plain and boring, don’t just think about the large surfaces but also focus on the little details. You can incorporate all sorts of cool little design features which can break the monotony of the white color.

Another interesting little trick is to have the countertop extend slightly lower down the sides and to create a sort of border around the top of your kitchen island. Even if it’s white just like the rest of the island, it will stand out.

White marble countertops, backsplashes and tiles in general always look unique. If you like the pattern in particular you can emphasize it through your design. Have the island countertop come down the sides like a waterfall and introduce this as an accent material in other forms as well.

You can rely on white kitchen countertops to also tone down a rather busy-looking kitchen interior. It works out because the countertops link up the bottom and upper section of your kitchen cabinets.

Another possibility is to play with different variations of the same color or with similar nuances. For example, this kitchen has a bunch of light grey cabinets and white countertops which blend in seamlessly. This creates a nice match but also makes the design quite plain. It’s the little yellow details and the hardware accents that add depth and character to the design.

Using white as the primary color in the kitchen is a really and simple way of making it look brighter and more spacious than it actually is. This can also help to make it seem more inviting plus it also adds a refined touch to the design as a whole. You don’t have to perfectly match everything. In fact, it’s nice to have a bit of subtle variations. For example, your white counters could turn out to be slightly darker than the white cabinets and that’s entirely ok.

Of course, there’s one other color that always looks beautiful when paired with white and we’re talking about black. This timeless duo can make your kitchen look absolutely amazing. Check out how elegant this white countertop looks on top of the black island and how bright and airy the whole room feels.

When pairing a white kitchen counter with an island or a set of cabinets that’s also white, it’s nice to add a bit of pattern or texture to one of the surfaces in order to diversify the design. The difference in materials might be enough to achieve this balance.

Obviously there are lots of different variations, materials, designs and styles to choose from when it comes to kitchen counters and there really is something out there for everyone. This type of white counter, for example, is one of the most versatile ones. It could look right at home in a traditional kitchen but it could fit in a modern or contemporary space.

In this particular case the white kitchen counter blends in and perfectly matches the body of the island but that doesn’t look overly simple because of the contrasting bar section. It’s a case where some surfaces are left intentionally simple in order to highlight others.

If you want to create some sort of visual connection between the furniture and the walls of your kitchen, you could try something like this. The white marble counter and the wall tiles match white creates an interesting visual effect.

It may be the case that you don’t really have a lot of room in your kitchen. The countertop could be mostly broken up by all the built-in appliances, leaving only small areas where you can actually see the pattern and the design behind it. To make up for that you can add a matching backsplash.

Because both the counter and the backsplash are perfectly white and lack any pattern, this blurs the line between them creates a really cool infinity room effect. It’s a simple design trick which opens up the room and makes it seem bigger and brighter.

Because it’s more difficult to find colored countertops than it is to find colored wall tiles, you can go with a non-color for the counter and turn the wall behind it into the focal point of the design. You can also add some accent lights underneath the shelves or the cabinets.

We’ve come full circle and the last design on the list is one that also involves white marble countertops. It’s a rather simple and versatile one that takes advantage of the natural beauty of this material to add character to an otherwise very common-looking space.
